Dreams get shattered.
Hearts get battered.
You wouldn't have the faintest clue,
When you would get hit by a bolt from the blue.
All those years of hopeful anticipation,
All those sleepless nights spent with dedication,
Can evaporate into nothingness in one single moment.
Making the rest of the life seem like an endless torment.
When the ground moves beneath your feet,
And you feel you can no longer stand the heat,
You need to believe that things will even out.
And fill your heart with hope instead of doubt.
I know, it's easier said than done.
But it's the only way to displace darkness with sun.
The funny thing about life is you never know what follows.
It could be heaven next, though you feel you are now in gallows.
It matters more what you have got than what you have lost.
May be the prize that eluded you, was worth more than its cost.
Perhaps, the new path you are going to take,
Will bring you more joy and happiness in its wake.
Sometimes it's not a curse; sometimes it's just a test.
Sometimes in the final analysis, it all works out for the best.

Actually... not sometimes.... always. :D
In the long run... everything that happens, has happened, will happen... happened for a reason. :) It always works out.
The irony of life is... It's beautiful in spite of all the ugly and we think it's ugly in spite of all the beauty.

ReplyDeleteThank you so very much for this inspiring, uplifting poem.
Reading this over and over again, I felt there was 2 words that don't fit with the tone and flow of the rest of the poem.

Imagine these lines said to Sachin - Perhaps you'll win this time. :-) He may or may not be the Sachin we know, depending on how much he takes others words to heart.
