I came home late in the night.
And saw you sleeping on the couch.
Body curled up, knees in the stomach.
The Dinner was lying cold, uneaten.
The wine had lost its fizz.
And the candle was burnt out.
The TV was running an old movie.
The hero was saying:
"Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn."
The drapes were open.
The breeze was cold.
You shivered in your sleep.
I covered you with a blanket.
And smoothened your hair.
You smiled in your dreams.
May be you forgave me....
A beautiful touching poem... that yet again put a smile on my face. :) Loved the images you created with words... I could see the whole scene. :)
