Even the stars don't glow forever

I wish I had said this to you,
When I had a chance to do so.
Nobody has all the time in the world.
Forever, even the stars don’t glow.
I wish I had caught you before,
When you turned and disappeared around the moon.
Giving me one last look which implied:
“When you have something to say, say it soon.”
All the while, we were dancing in such a noise,
I never really could finish what I was saying.
Tried to talk to you, but then you hushed me;
Always getting away from me, always moving and swaying.
All the time, holding your hand,
Side by side, I was running along with you.
Yet could never turn towards you and whisper;
The three magic words in your ear: “I love you”.
When you were flying away to the other galaxy,
I realized with horror, it was time to say goodbye.
Never could figure out how it happened;
How those precious little moments slipped by.
I wish I had said this to you,
When I had a chance to do so.
Nobody has all the time in the world.
Forever, even the stars don’t glow.

  1. You wrote the poem. I live it. Everyday.
    Saying things for the fear of not getting another chance.
    Repeating myself. Lest I was not heard.
    Repeating again and again...
    So much so... that the purpose of me saying becomes irrelevant.
    You wrote the poem. I live it. Everyday.
    🙂
